Hello Lead and fans of Lead at a distance!!
I’m baaack!! After a full month off of hibernation to snuggle new baby I’m easing back with part time for a few more months. The husband and I received so many well wishes and congratulations on our baby, it was so kind of you all! Thank you!!
So we’re in the depths of winter (not to be confused with the depths of despair!) Doesn’t it seem like yesterday that we said to each other, “Good grief! It’s only October how can winter be here already?” and now we’re actually in winter. But enjoy it! Before you know it, it’ll be summer again!! And to help you enjoy it we’re getting ready for WINTERFEST! Lead’s celebration of snow, ice, winter and all things frozen, because if we didn’t love winter we wouldn’t live here! Amirite?!?
The full schedule is now online www.LeadMeThere.org/winterfest and it’s jam packed with fun. I’m excited for it all, but I’m highlighting two events this week:
VIP Firework Party! Come down to the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center and enjoy heavy appetizers, open bar (beer and wine), and the best view of the fireworks from the warmth and comfort of our beautiful building. We’re offering a special discount of $25 off tickets with code: FROZEN! We had so much fun last year and we’re looking forward to a great party again this year. This event helps us pay for the fireworks!
COOL BEANS bean cook-off. Last year we had an amazing time traipsing through town tasting chili from so many businesses. This year we streamlined things (people said it was a little overwhelming), and opened up the event to individuals and organizations, as well as any dish that includes beans! We’re looking for more people to enter and participate, as well as attend and eat the goodies. Prizes include a huge pat on the back, trophies, foot traffic to your business, and …. wait for it, a big basket of beans! This event is free to enter as a member business, or individual and we’re just asking for a small donation to participate as a taster. All the details on our website.

And don’t forget that Northern Hills Recreation Association is hosting the Snow Jam event at the Tomahawk Country Club. Winter is best when we get out and enjoy it!

Looking forward to seeing you all around! Stay toasty!
