Gooooooood Morning Lead!
Have you been outside lately? We’ve had some beautiful days. On a walk this week I even smelled that Black Hills summer smell. You could blind fold me and drop me anywhere in the world and I would always recognize the smell of home. I can never quite put my finger on it, our dirt, rocks, pine needles – a special combination of all of them? The snow is melting, the days still shock me with their length, and the street sweeper has been making its way around town getting rid of that winter grunge. Summer is coming back.
Never has a summer been met with so much anticipation – such hope! Things are inching towards opening up, slowly unfurling. It will be an interesting time in the next few months to see how things go and how we proceed. Remember to be kind to each other and gentle, it’s been a hard time for everyone in many ways both seen and unseen.
_____ Here’s what’s going on around town _____
Friday, May 1st
9am – We’re continuing our Feeding Lead program at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center. You do not need to call ahead, you do not need to be qualified. You can come for yourself, or someone else. Drive up service. We’ll be there until we run out of stuff to give away. This program is sponsored by: Coeur Wharf, Homestake Mining Co, Black Hills Title, Sanford Underground Research Facility, Miners & Merchants Trading Post and several individuals. Thank you to everyone who donated and if you’d like to partner with us let me know!

Grab your favorite take out (did we mention Stampmill will be open) and join us in the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center parking lot from the back of your car to enjoy some socially distant social time! If the weather is bad we obviously will postpone this event. Check our event on Facebook for updates.
