Committees


A sense of accomplishment is achieved when individuals and business departments give of their time to volunteer for our community. It helps to build character in individuals and teamwork in employees. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us, or call: (605) 591-0209

We hold a monthly planning meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at Gnarly Pine Makerspace – 318 West Main Street.  These meetings are open for anyone from the public to join us and make suggestions and offer help.

WinterFest (February)
We plan activities surrounding winter sports, such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, fat tire biking, snowshoeing, tubing, sled hills, etc.  The Mile High Songwriter Series, VIP Party, fireworks over the Open Cut and a bonfire (burning of the Christmas trees) in the Homestake Visitor Center parking lot.

Annual Banquet (March)
The Annual Banquet is theme oriented (new theme selected each year).  This committee plans and organizes this event in appreciation for our members.

National Trails Day on the Mickelson Trail (June)
This is a half-day event (approximately 4 hours).  Responsibilities include securing and ordering t-shirts, snacks, drinks, prizes, etc.

Gold Camp Jubilee Days (4th of July)
Approximately, 10,000 people attend this large event.  Activities and vendors in Manual Brothers Park, Live Entertainment, a Tri-City Parade and fireworks over the Open Cut.  Many volunteers are need for this.

Business Promotions
This committee works towards assisting businesses to grow through marketing ideas to target their public specifically.

Membership
The Membership Committee uses resources to recruit and retain businesses and individuals for the Chamber.

Decorating Committee
This committee has the privilege of assisting with the decorating of events.  These events include: Annual Banquet, Gold Camp Jubilee Day (4th of July) – VIP Party, Holiday Open House, etc.
